Rumpu ja Sulka (2024)

The Drum and The Feather

A behind-the-scenes look at how the samba community in Finland prepares for the biggest event of the year, the Helsinki Samba Carnaval. Over six months we follow three samba schools across Finland to see the inspiration that goes into the enredos (storylines), the intricacy of the costume designs, and the energy of the drum rhythms.

Produced in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in Helsinki, Finnish Federation of Samba Schools, and Helsinki Samba Carnaval.

Directed & Produced by Dimitri Eskelinen
Edited by Dimitri Eskelinen & Natalia Inkina

Brazilian Coffee in Finland (2022)

Stepped into the shoes of a producer on a bigger project. Put together a small team, covered a little bit of fascinating history, conducted interviews. Even did some narration.

Produced in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in Helsinki with the participation of Paulig, Port of Turku, and Brazil Specialty Coffee Association.

Educational Series for Growth Tribe (2021)

My first venture into the world of audiovisual productions. Bought a second-hand Lumix G80, a pair of Rode Wireless Go IIs, and a tripod. Got advice from my cinematographer flatmate and hustled my way into a video gig.

Filmed and edited a series of lectures on marketing topics. Here is the introduction episode on "How to change someone's mind".
